Learning and Leading—Women’s Conference Launches

Learn and Lead

Client:

Women in Business Networking Leadership Conference

Problem:

Women in Business Networking is a Dayton powerhouse, connecting women from across industries for networking, education and empowerment. In 2009, WiBN planned a leadership conference with breakout sessions, display booths and keynote speakers at Sinclair  Community College. It promised to be a vibrant, educational event but required consistent, persistent marketing.

Solution:

The WiBN had the advantage of regularly attended monthly events, a targeted mailing list and plenty of positive buzz. The solution to a well-marketed event was to empower the passionate women of WiBN to evangelize to their spheres of influence.

First, an attractive website was created by Alyson Gerwe and written by Keylocke Services.  Complete workshop write ups and a detailed overview was written so the website could answer questions by potential attendees.

Next, an oversized business card was created with the web address so the women associated with WiBN could easily pass along the information. A series of targeted press releases were submitted to the local TV, radio and news outlets which garnered press and additional reservations.

Finally, social media avenues were used by creating a template email for the many contributors to distribute. Notices were also posted to sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter so a broader audience could be reached.

Results:

The event was a smashing success with over 100 attendees and a full circuit of speakers, seminars and a crowded trade room floor. The event is planned to be repeated next year.
