A popular public speaker needed to create back of the room sales with printed books and media items. But they were too busy, consulting and speaking to create their own written materials.
After I attended several of their seminars, we were able to come up with a table of contents for potential topics for their book. We decided to create a series of blog posts with excerpts from each chapter to create double-duty text.
With the table of contents and working knowledge of their teaching points, I was able to create rough chapters which the client edited. Another round of revisions created coherence and fixed all grammar issues.
The author self-published the book under their name and now sells it at each speaking event. The sales from the book often eclipse the speaking fee. The excerpts from the book were published on their blog, creating interest and driving further sales of the book.
